Swapped motherboard and CPU but no output detected.
I upgraded my CPU and motherboard to an MSI B550 Gaming Plus and swapped my Ryzen 5 2600X for a Ryzen 7 5700X3D. After installing everything, pressing the power button on my case caused the motherboard and case lights to turn on, but my keyboard and mouse didn’t respond and there was no output on the monitors. I’m unsure what’s causing this problem and would really appreciate any assistance.
You missed connecting the power cable for your GPU. Make sure it’s plugged in properly. Your cooler is already struggling, so cleaning it will help prevent further slowdowns.
It appears the device was not connected in the picture, yet it is still showing as a problem.
Hinjima pointed out the BIOS might not be current enough for this CPU. It’s also a good idea to replace the cooler with a more powerful one—like the 65W model on a chip that generates over 100W. Thermalright’s Assassin King 120 would work fine.
Check your system settings to find the correct BIOS menu. If it doesn’t appear, try resetting BIOS settings or consulting the manufacturer’s guide.
