The most secure choice is the e6700 since it came with them. Alternatively, the e6750 or e6850 could also fit, but you shouldn’t invest much here.

You can try it, though it’s probably not going to work as expected. Based on what Applefreak mentioned, the 6xxx line uses FSB 1066 or 1333, which is a problem. Still, because it’s so affordable, you might not lose anything by giving it a shot. Alternatively, consider the Core 2 Duo E4700 for better results.
