I’m planning to change the motherboards between my desk and living room PCs for USB-C support. It wasn’t an issue before, but now my DualSense struggles to charge on USB-A, so I’ll need a type-C port. The room PC has an ASRock B450 Mac with no type-C, paired with a 1600 and a 1070 Ti in a coolermaster SL600M case that includes a type-C header. My desk PC is an ASRock X470 Taichi with a type-C header, running a 5600 and a 5700XT in a Thermaltake View 71, which doesn’t have a type-C port. I might need to flash the B450 Mac for the 5600, but will Windows have to be reinstalled on both systems? Both boards are ASRock AM4 with similar chipsets, and the CPUs and GPUs remain on their respective SSDs.

Try it out and check—since it isn’t a built-in function, it doesn’t need to perform perfectly. If it works, you’re good; if not, reinstall it.
