I checked all the versions of the list you tried, but none worked. I reinstalled it and now it crashes after the first three short clips before the menu. Please help, I just want to play Kotor.

It's interesting, I faced a comparable problem when trying to run it on W7, where it would crash right after the title screen. Just switching to comp mode and using 'esc' to skip the opening cutscenes helped resolve it. Besides that, I'm not sure what else to do.

I believe a fresh installation of Windows is the last thing I need to do.

Consider turning off the videos. It previously caused crashes in the game. Alternatively, try using an emulator if that doesn’t help.

I silenced the videos by changing their names, yet they still crashed. It could relate to the menu settings. Are there any emulators for Windows XP you're aware of?

I disable the videos in the options. You havea tickbox there for videos. As for emulators, never needed to use one so idk... Google it? You could try a virtual machine i guess.
