Your current setup is solid for streaming and gaming with the i5 6600k, GTX 970, and 16GB RAM. Upgrading to an i7 9700K with a new motherboard would likely boost performance, especially if you're looking for more power for demanding tasks. It fits within your budget of 650 euros, so it's a reasonable move if you want better speed and future-proofing.

Are you experiencing slow frame rates in your games? How regularly do you share your streams online?

it's just that I consistently see high CPU usage in games, and I'm aiming to make my PC last longer. I'm considering upgrading by getting an i7 9700k with a GTX 1660.

For long-term performance, consider a model with 16 threads. Gaming needs this, though the 9700k offers basic capability with 8 cores and 8 threads. Streaming could be a challenge. The 9900k or Ryzen 3700x are better options. Between them, the 3700x is preferable since it maintains about 95% of the minimum FPS while being 25% cheaper.
