Yesterday everything seemed normal but this morning something changed. While logging into Valorant, my frames were capped at 30 across all aspects in the game. In the menu, there was no adjustment available for game settings, even though my laptop could handle the game well. Previously, my FPS averaged around 200, which matched the limit I had set in the game settings. The laptop model is an 82B1000AUS, a dedicated Ryzen 7 4800H GTX 1660 Ti with 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB SSD. I recently updated the GPU driver to the latest version for my GPU, but I’m not sure that was the cause since I had it updated three days prior. I didn’t notice any problems until now, so I thought it might be related to an NVIDIA panel issue. I turned off the battery cap in the NVIDIA settings, which was originally set to 30, and it helped improve performance. When I first started Valorant, it was running at 60 FPS, but after adjusting the settings back to 200 FPS, it worked better. If you have any suggestions or know more, please let me know.
Verify your Nvidia control panel settings to ensure Vsync operates at half refresh rate or is disabled. If using Geforce Experience, it might have increased graphics settings post-driver update. Confirm that Game Mode (or the Windows recording feature) is turned off. If issues persist, consider reinstalling both the driver and the game.
