I'm having trouble accessing my pictures anymore. The normal .JPG files are now changing to .JPG.SBTNLLI. Anyone know how I can revert them back? It's been over 6000 photos, and I really want them restored. I tried copying them to another computer with an external drive, but that didn't work. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong and don't have any backup files. Please help me! Tim
Click the images with the right-click menu.
Launch the application you wish to use for opening photos.
Choose the desired option and click "Select Default."
Proceed to completion.
The problem lies in the altered file extension. I provided instructions on reverting it to the correct format. The concern isn't about the standard application; changing the extension prevents any program from opening the image file regardless of its default settings.
I thought he probably has one since there are certain viruses that alter file extensions to confuse people.
With over 6000 files, TheKDub's output could become quite heavy. I recommend this approach: from a dos box, change into the folder containing the files and run `ren * .JPG.SBTNLLI ^ *.JPG`. This will restore all impacted files to their proper .jpg extensions. If they're spread across multiple directories, we'll need to think more carefully... Good luck!
It seems the files are damaged or the software you're using isn't working properly. You might have a virus affecting your system. Consider running a scan with a free antivirus tool and try restoring your system to an earlier state if needed. Good luck!
