You're considering a 7900 XT with a Ryzen 7 5700G. It's a good question—your current setup should handle 1080p at 144Hz without issues, but upgrading the CPU might be wise if you want better performance. Let me know if you need more details!

In 1080p performance, 5700G may face limitations particularly in gaming and turning off V-SYNC could worsen the issue. This doesn't indicate that 5700G is a weak CPU. To fully utilize an AM4 processor, 5800X3D is recommended, but starting with 5700G paired with 7900 XT seems wise before committing to upgrades. Upgrading to 5800X3D might still cause bottlenecks, especially without V-SYNC, so consider whether a higher GPU like 7800XT is acceptable or lowering your GPU settings.

At 1080p the performance will slow down. I’d consider a 6800 XT or 6900 XT, switch to a 1440p display, and save any remaining funds for a better CPU.

Sure! That makes sense, and I’ll likely take it. Then later I’ll upgrade the CPU and monitor to even things out. The nice part is I always use V-sync, which should help reduce the bottleneck. Thanks a lot!

It's reasonable, but since I'm selling my friend's 6700 XT, I'm focusing on the biggest upgrade possible for my GPU. Otherwise, I'd probably choose something similar. Thanks for your thoughts!
