Hello everyone, welcome back. I’m reaching out from the start because my new PC is only three days old and I’ve already received it. Here are its details: an Intel I-7 4790 CPU running at 3.60 GHz, 16 GB of RAM, and a NVIDIA GeForce GT 730 graphics card. Despite these specs, I’m struggling to get CSGO running smoothly—often only around 40-60 FPS with noticeable fluctuations. The highest I’ve managed is 100 FPS, but it drops significantly when using bots or in offline mode. I’m not very experienced with this stuff, but I’ve invested a lot of money, so I really appreciate any advice you can offer. Thank you in advance!

It's due to a faulty GPU. The GT 730 was formerly a GT 630.

Your GPU performs worse than a toaster.

Invest more in the CPU rather than the GPU, and you'll see the difference. A better GPU isn't always better for gaming builds—prioritizing the CPU usually yields better performance.

Focus on a GPU priced over £40, around $49, is essential now.

I got this from someone I know, not from building it myself. The CPU and GPU choices were really poor—it should have been the other way around. You can only fix it by getting a new GPU. In any case, I suggest checking forums before buying a new computer to avoid similar issues! Good luck.

I was surprised by the feedback from others! You can try using the low setting with a low resolution. I have an older laptop with a GT555m chip and I manage to play CSGO at 150-200 fps on low settings and 13xx resolution. Since your GPU isn’t powerful enough for high resolution, lowering both the graphics quality and resolution would help. Also, turning off Vsync in the video settings might improve performance. Let me know if the issue persists. Thanks!

And while waiting on new GPU (it really is that bad), install newest drivers and lower graphic settings. You can also try if iGPU runs better. For that you need to connect monitor to mobo and install Intel drivers.

I reduced all settings, even in the NIVIDA driver, to boost performance. When I mention FPS at 60, it matches what my lower and top attempts achieved.

And thank you all for clarifying. I didn’t purchase this from a friend—it’s actually a ThinkCentre from Lenovo.
