It seems you're dealing with a motherboard that requires a BIOS update for compatibility with a 5600G. You're wondering if it's possible to upgrade the BIOS without needing a new CPU.

High-end motherboards often support a single USB port that works without needing a GPU or CPU, while cheaper boards typically require a full CPU and graphics card to run the BIOS.

It doesn’t seem to be well presented. There’s no reference to their FlashBack function on the PRIME B550M-A, which involves flashing the UEFI using just a power supply and a flash drive. If you’re not too late, consider returning your model and getting a comparable one with a similar feature. An alternative could be the MSI B550M PRO-VDH. If you prefer staying with your current unit, reach out to the RMA service at the store where you purchased it for assistance.
