Hey there! I'm trying to figure this out. I'm currently using a hotel's internet, which is via Ethernet. Everything worked fine until today. Now I'm encountering an ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID error in Chrome and SSL issues with Steam. It seems to work when I'm connected through a VPN or Wi-Fi, but not on Ethernet. I've searched everywhere but haven't found a solution. Gaming is what keeps me motivated right now, so I really need some help quickly! Thanks a lot! 😊
Other approaches also offer the opportunity for the Man In The Middle, so I recommend considering this carefully...
I have no alternative, I reside in the hotel. For work, I am staying on board.
I'm facing the same problem on Windows 10 embedded. It occurs with every connection—whether using tether, hotspot, or adapter—and resetting doesn't help. My main advice is to check the Windows files. Running CMD to disable autotune and flush DNS has minimal impact, and adjusting QoS settings doesn't make a difference.
