Hey, I accidentally left my laptop unlocked in class and my friend switched on high contrast mode to mess with me. It’s now off except for the drag-and-select box and text color settings, which are stuck from the old theme. I tried disabling it in both the control panel and the noob settings menu, but nothing worked. Even when I changed another high-contrast theme, the issue persisted—colors just shifted instead of fixing. In some windows, like Task Manager, the text turns bright yellow and the background goes black, while regular windows still look okay. It seems like my theme is being overlaid on top of the high-contrast setting. Any tips would be super helpful—why is Windows 11 so buggy for me?

Have you attempted to reboot your computer with the high contrast setting turned off?

Would have been better to include it, but I did. Tried hard and soft resets, went through the insider program, then tried to roll back to check if it would help, but it didn’t. Just don’t want to have to reset and reinstall everything because of a silly bug.

It's been roughly a week since the topic was raised, and I've revised it at least twice.

Consider turning off the high contrast setting, then entering safe mode and restarting to normal. It might resolve the issue.

Use left alt plus shift plus print screen to turn it on and off.

I gave it a try, but switching it on and off didn't help. The debris that was there just remained in place.

Avoided using it during school breaks (in Australia) and cleared the display. It’s a minor visual issue, but I need to be able to see the screen clearly.
