Hi Forum,
I have 16 GB of RAM installed. I’m considering adding another 16 GB, using the same sticks (Kingston 2666 MHz). However, some friends warn that getting new sticks from a different batch might not be accepted by my system and could lead to crashes or BSODs. Should I go for 32 GB in one package instead? That way, I avoid any compatibility issues and potential headaches if the PC malfunctions? Thanks.

Your friends' opinions aren't accurate. Purchasing the same kit you currently own will function perfectly without any issues.

Generally, a mix of RAM can cause performance to drop to the minimum speed and poor timing. It’s usually okay if your goal is just to maintain at least the baseline speed.

It's quite noticeable and easy to find a compatible match. I suggest choosing a kit that aligns with identical timing and frequency. A matching kit would be ideal.
