Hello, I'm trying to set up a fresh system. The computer starts up but only the fans begin to run. The keyboard lights briefly for about two seconds before turning off completely with a black screen. I can't access BIOS using any key presses and the machine just spins without life. My specs are a Ryzen 5 8500G, Asus Prime A620M-K motherboard, Xlr8 RTX 3060, Crucial DDR5 5000MHz 2x 8GB RAM. I've checked all connections and components, reinserted the RAM and GPU, and even used the CPU's integrated graphics, but nothing works. The keyboard lights up again only when I plug something in or reset CMOS. Any advice would be appreciated.

The motherboard could require a BIOS upgrade to function with the Ryzen 8000 line. The Ryzen 8500G demands BIOS version 1807 or higher for compatibility. An outdated BIOS version would prevent proper operation.

I wouldn’t be able to make any changes since you can’t access the system.

The issue seems to be needing a BIOS update, but your motherboard doesn’t support flashback updates without a CPU. You’d need a Ryzen 7000 processor for this task. If you can bring back the 8500G and install a Ryzen 7600 instead, that would work well—the 7600 is also quite fast.
