Support for Unreal Engine 4.9 and DirectX 12 is available!
Hey there, I checked for similar posts but didn’t find any matches. If you need help, just let me know. Here’s the link to the Unreal Engine 4 Elemental demo you mentioned: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hfTwJOc-3Ng. Someone adapted it for DirectX 12 in Unreal Engine 4.9. You can download the original DirectX 11 version from this site: http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/236...tech-demo/. The Unreal Editor v4.9 supports DirectX 12 as well, and there’s a forum thread discussing how to start using it with DirectX 12 on Windows 10: https://forums.unrealengine.com/showthre...direct-x12. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes with Unreal Tournament! NVIDIA also released a new driver (v355.60) that mentions Ashes of Singularity, another DirectX 12 game—maybe it could help with Unreal Engine 4.9?
I’m moving my game over at the last moment. This update will significantly improve performance and serve as a strong selling point for my kickstart.
Great news—just getting some real-world examples from the API now. But why am I stuck at version 355.60?
I launched GeForce Experience, looked for updates, but found nothing. Adding beta drivers and beta releases didn’t help. Could the GTX 760 not support DX12 be the reason?
Support for DirectX 12 is already available. The GTX 400 line remains under development. You can find more info here: http://www.geforce.com/drivers/results/89125
Sure thing! Make sure to test both DirectX 11 and 12 versions and share your findings here. I'll be back soon—hopefully before I need to go home! I'm still checking if my Two-way SLI configuration works with DirectX 12, though the NVIDIA drivers haven't supported SLI in that version yet... maybe 355.60 will help, even if it's not mentioned in the notes. Good luck!
