Hello everyone. To begin, I was using Windows 8.1 with all updates and everything. I was really happy with the operating system and its integration with OneDrive. However, due to driver issues, after a fresh OS installation about a month ago, errors kept appearing. The laptop is older, so not all drivers were available for Windows 8.1. So I upgraded to Windows 7 and installed the correct OneDrive app. Service Pack 1 was applied. But then problems arose again. In Windows 8.1, OneDrive in Explorer displayed files neatly, removing them from the HDD if they hadn’t been used for a while. That was convenient... The advantage of cloud storage is you don’t need local files, and since most of it is photos and documents, waiting a few seconds to download is fine. Windows 7 handled it by letting you pick which folders to sync. I thought the process would be similar in 8.1... But I started downloading everything locally on my hard drive. Then I stopped and chose "Synchronize nothing," thinking it would just index everything locally. Actually, it fetched files only when needed. Unfortunately, the OneDrive folder in Explorer was empty. My question is: how can I get it to function like it did in Windows 8.1? I checked all OneDrive settings in the app, but found nothing related to this issue. Thanks in advance.
