Support for Mac, Windows, or dual-boot configurations
Over the last few months I've been balancing my systems between Mac and Windows, even simplifying to just one OS to test performance. I'm weighing a powerful Mac desktop against a streamlined PC or using both together. I play games on my Windows setup but am reducing gaming as I age, so efficiency matters more than raw power. The convenience of Bootcamp on Mac for occasional gaming is far more valuable than having a full desktop. What are your thoughts?
For specific needs, opt for mac OS; otherwise, Linux offers flexibility. Windows remains a solid choice.
If you're not looking for a particular requirement for macOS or a strong preference for it, switching to a more powerful Mac won't be worthwhile. You'll likely end up spending more for inferior equipment.
I’d prefer Windows or try Linux for a change. I also don’t really like Apple, so I wouldn’t use a Mac.
There isn't anything to address here. If you're considering a Mac, productivity varies by personal preference—some thrive on Windows for its familiarity, while others enjoy Linux for its cost and flexibility.
I see the argument of Linux and also the purposefulness of Windows. I want to keep both but then again I feel like my setup could be much more compacted and simplified with a singular operations base. For the work I do I'd get much more value out of Mac since I just do mostly video editing, programming, and web-based work. It just feels wrong to leave behind the better gaming ability which is my main concern at this point. I'd also be reducing my need for Linux on a Unix system, that being MacOS. It's a tug-of-war right now for my needs vs my wants.
They are essentially the same instrument, capable of performing similar tasks yet offering distinct advantages.
I've tested it and the optimization feels a bit over the top, honestly.
