The exact CPUs I'm after are still available for more than $1000 on eBay, but I found this listing: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Xeon-E5-2...1ce520655c. I haven't tested them yet. Could anyone share their thoughts on these purchases? Do they function as described in Intel's specifications? Should I completely skip them? Thanks ahead.

They usually run on low clocks and aren't compatible with many boards. In some situations they may not even boost at all. I own one in a development server with several VMs—it works fine there, but it wouldn’t be suitable for a primary server or workstation. If you choose this path, contact the seller and confirm which boards they’ve tested. Alternatively, purchase from sellers who clearly state their compatibility.
