Hello everyone, I’m here to help anyone dealing with a Hackintosh. I’m not a specialist, but I’ve had good results with OpenCore and dual booting. Following community rules, I won’t assist with obtaining macOS outside of a real Mac. My focus is mainly on setting up the USB, preparing installation files, fixing issues after setup, and giving hardware tips. I’ve completed two solid builds using macOS Big Sur. You can expect about 24 to 48 hours of troubleshooting to get an install going, and a fully functional system for a Big Sur Ryzen often comes along well. Intel still works quite nicely in that scenario.

You've been checking the Dortania guide repeatedly and spending several days with your Asus Z170 P motherboard. Thinking about switching to a more recent model might make things simpler.

You're not being charged for the support, are you? I'm here to help with upgrading your Catalina build to Big Sur. The Niresh-Catalina configuration made things simple, but finding a similar setup in Big Sur isn't straightforward. Your i5-4460 on a GA-B85M-D3V board with Intel Graphics 4600 and a 2015 MacBook Pro i7-4980HQ with dual graphics needs attention. Let's figure this out together.

Consider using OpenCore instead. Niresh mentioned it might seem simple now but could lead to bigger issues later. For details, check this guide: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Install-Guide/

No specific KEXT recommendation exists for X99 Audio ALC668. Consider testing different settings to find what works best for your setup.

AppleALC.kext is not functioning as expected. It should be part of OpenCore.
