I'm facing a choice about upgrading my RAM. I have a Ryzen 5 1400 on a Gigabyte GA-AB350 motherboard and a G.skill Trident Z RGB 8GB 3000MHz chipset. I recently got a new kit, the G.Skill Ripjaws V 8GB 3200MHz. Can I pair it with my existing RAM to make dual-channel performance by lowering the Ripjaws speed? Also, if that isn't feasible, will using them together cause damage or affect stability? If dual-channel isn't an option, can I run them separately and still see a total of 16GB in my system?

stick mix and match might not always succeed, especially with XMP settings, but it could work in dual channel at 3000. If it does, both channels will function; if not, it won’t harm anything.
