I'm working on a personal budget build and have an AMD RX 6600 with a Prime B660M-A D4 motherboard and an Intel Core i3 processor. The graphics card should fit in Gen 3 slots but isn't sending any signal in Gen 4 slots. I'm sure it's compatible, but the fans aren't working. It seems like the power supply might be the issue since I only have a 500W bronze unit. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Install the graphics card into the Gen 3 socket. Update the BIOS to set the top slot to Gen 3. Restart the system with the card in the new position and test functionality. If successful, revert the BIOS setting back to Gen 4 and check again.

I attempted that but the result remains unchanged. This should improve performance compared to what the card claims, especially in Gen 4 where speed is emphasized.

It may appear in the bios that the default graphics settings are configured for PCIe Gen 3 over PCIe Gen 3 on-board graphics. Adjust them to PCIe Gen 4 if needed.

The issue is really annoying with this setting. I’ve updated the BIOS and reinstalled the drivers. Still no luck. Any idea what impact this could have on performance? It’s a budget card, so every bit of help matters. Thanks again.

You're facing an issue where the PCEI Express Gen 4 slot isn't showing up in your motherboard's BIOS, even though you're trying to access it. This could mean a compatibility problem or a missing component.
