I’m preparing for a 5800x or 5900x processor and am concerned about my memory performance. With 3733MHz RAM and a CL20 latency, it might not be ideal, but it should still get the job done. The 5800x/5900x should work, though I’ll want to check if upgrading memory is necessary.

Based on what I've heard, 3200 cl14 remains a solid choice for the 5000 series. You might see slight improvements on titles that run faster with more precise timing. If you're using two ranks per channel—either with a 4-stick configuration or dual 16Gb modules—it's likely more important to prioritize stability than speed, as long as you meet the 3200 requirement. Remember, if your RAM doesn't stay stable at XMP, you could lower it to 3600 and tighten the timing settings yourself. Some BIOS versions are reportedly causing memory problems, but these should mostly be resolved by sticking to the latest non-beta releases.

You can always experiment with OC and fine-tuning the timing. With Zen 3, a 4000mhz DRAM is achievable, and based on the ICs you can easily reach a CL of 16-18 at 4k.

You experienced a performance boost, though it didn’t justify the cost. I upgraded my RAM from CL24 3200 to CL14 3333 on my 5900X, and my R20 score improved from around 8850 to about 9000.
