I checked the liquid cooling pump on the processor and reduced the thermal paste a bit. I also ran a realbench overnight.

The results aren’t improving much, and I think leaving the thermal compound in place won’t significantly change the temperatures. The idle CPU temperature is now around 33-35, down from about 21 earlier.
Did you use a snow pea-sized quantity? It's approximately half of a regular green pea, positioned exactly in the middle. Then adjust it in an X pattern to prevent it from shifting to one side.
I have some Thermaltake tg7 from Best Buy.
You might want to consider using a Corsair link and checking the pump and fan speeds.
Yeah, I did that too—I’ve got a Corsair link around 2900-3k for the pump, and the fan is about 800-930. The Staplergun says it’s a snow pea size amount, roughly half a regular green pea, centered. Just make sure to tighten in an X pattern so it doesn’t go all over one side. I’m using a Thermaltake TG7 from Best Buy. You might want to check the pump and fan speeds with Corsair.
I have re-sat the cooling and reapplied AS5 yesterday. I also set the fan speed on the radiator to maximum. During testing now, I’m still seeing high temperatures—CPU at 81 when running at 4.8GHz with 1.296V on RealBench. Would someone be able to help me find a solution? Should I try a different thermal paste? I ordered an Artic MX-4. My idle temps are around 33 degrees.
High temperatures are typical for a 7700k, yet I'm managing 4.8ghz at just 1.21v while keeping my temps in the high 70s to low 80s with my 240mm cryorig a40 ultimate AIO. I believe the only solution is to vent, but that sounds quite risky and I’m unsure if I really want to try it. These units usually reach a stable clock just over 5ghz anyway, so should venting be worth it? Probably not.
