Suggestions for my Build
I plan to purchase an SSD later, but right now I'm focusing on investing in the PSU as you advised. I need to understand the total power consumption of the PC with the GTX 1060 6GB OC card included, which I didn't mention before. The GTX 1060 is a low-power card, using no more than 150 watts at most. Adding roughly 75 to 100 watts for the rest of the system will keep the overall usage under 300 watts consistently.
It's strange since Nvidia mentioned the gtx 1060 uses more than 400W, and my power supply unit suggested I need a PSU with over 400W for the graphics card.
It's interesting since Nvidia mentioned the gtx 1060 will use more than 400W.
My video card case indicated I needed a PSU exceeding 400W to operate it.
Total system power consumption ranges from 200-280W.
A power supply with at least 100W extra is sufficient.
A 400W unit will work well without overclocking, matching Nvidia's advice.
Prioritize quality over quantity; wattage isn't the main concern, but the build and performance of the power supply matter. The FSP Raider is lacking, while the Corsair RMi performs better.
The recommended power consumption for overclocking your graphics card and CPU is around 400W.
I'll take the Corsair RMx Series RM550x, rated at 80+ Gold with 550W output.
I think I'll get a solid 550W unit like this:
Corsair RMx Series RM550x, 80+ Gold 550W
It looks like good quality, so I'll go for it.
