Looking for a suitable AP for this TP-Link model in a similar wall-mount style and price range? Also considering alternatives like the one from TP-Link Business Networking.

Are you certain you want a directional AP? It looks built for one AP per room instead of being wall-mounted or ceiling-installed, which spreads signals. I’d think there would be almost no signal behind it, particularly if it’s housed in a metal enclosure (I’m aware that’s typical for UK in-wall units, but I have no idea elsewhere).

It's fine since it only affects one room lacking signal; the others have a solid connection through the router.

They're saying you shouldn't let the client jump onto another nearby API.

If both the router and the AP share the same SSID, moving between rooms might cause signal issues due to interference.

SDNs typically enable smooth transitions on WiFi by tracking devices and sending alerts when nearby. The responsibility for switching networks falls on the client, especially if signal strength is weak. Some users prefer maintaining a single connection until conditions improve, which works well with in-wall APs that have limited coverage but can reconnect using signals from nearby APs.
