Hi everyone, I've been struggling / thinking about doing some upgrades on my PC, due to my biggest issue on my CPU/GPU: Cooling and Noise. My fear is that I choose to much aesthetic on the case, restricting airflow and thus creating my issue. Besides that, I feel I might be bottlenecking myself a bit on my CPU in terms of the GPU. I'll note down in Celsius, as I'm European. So as a rundown on my specs: - Intel i9-10850k - ASUS ROG Strix 3080 Ti OC edition, undervolted it a bit to make it run less hot. - Corsair H100i Capellix AIO cooler - Obsidian Series 500D RGB SE - Corsair RM1000x (2021) I run the 3 stock fans on the case, and the 2 CPU cooler fans, 3 pull in, 2 push out. Mount of the AIO block is on the top end of the case. I've seen several signs that my 10850k is just an issue with cooling it. And during summer and gaming I've seen the temps reach up to 90 on the CPU. Then my GPU starts to kick in aswell near 80-85 and the noise is so much I can't even listen music on speakers anymore ( which I enjoy in summer more because the heat sucks with a headset ). So what I've done so far to tackle noise is adjust my curves so it starts to spin up at 60.. but I feel that is already a mistake. Besides I've feel like my GPU is way more powerful compared to the CPU. And I was looking into an upgrade to AMD especially the 7800X3D. I don't do any special kind of sauce the requires me to have much CPU power. I run VM's to play with, and that's about it that is not using the GPU. So my question is, what would you guys do in terms of solving the issue? Personally I'm more aiming towards an upgrade to AMD, go on DDR5 as well, buy a faster SSD with PCIe 4 or even 5. And change the case and CPU cooler and leave the rest the same as is. My total aim is to just reduce the noise, and temps on idle of the CPU/GPU. They currently sit around 40-50 on the CPU, 50-55 on the GPU. Aesthetics on the case doesn't matter to my anymore. If anything, no RGB would be okay to me as well.

Discussing noise during idle versus load usage shows distinct differences. Idle sounds are generally fine on today’s computers since components can shut down or power down when needed. The low temperatures aren’t usually a concern. During gaming, things change, but with strong parts you might want to adjust power limits—like keeping the CPU around 65 watts and GPU at about 200—to see how comfortable that feels. You could also disable hyperthreading or turbo, though this will affect performance, especially the latter.
