i have a h510 and I think the board is still available. i was considering building a low-power media server or media station without a gpu, dvd, blu-ray drive, or many hdd drives. at first i wanted an i3 lga1200, but i don’t want to spend too much money. i’m not sure if an f variant is necessary since non-f variants are usually more expensive and don’t fit my needs. i thought about getting a celeron with an igpu instead. should i choose an i3 or go for a regular cpu? also, should i focus on a tcpu for power savings or pick a standard cpu? any suggestions would be helpful.

For a Starbound server setup, the required hardware depends on expected player count. If you anticipate more than four players online, a quad-core processor is advisable. A Celeron works for media servers but isn’t ideal. I’d consider used i3 or i5 10th generation CPUs instead. It looks like eBay currently has some open-box i3 10100T chips for less than $60.

Thanks to Starbound for the feedback. I was concerned an i3 might be necessary, but I’ll check further. Appreciate your confirmation that at least an i3 is required.
