Suddenly, just a few keys function on my keyboard (B, N, ', / and arrow keys). I didn't change anything special.
The title accurately reflects the situation, but it's unclear what the problem is. It seems the issue started a couple of days ago, and after turning on the PC today, only a few keys work while the rest don't. It's not sure if this means it needs fixing or if it's just reaching the end of its life.
have you tested it on other computers?
have you tried various USB ports?
does it work in safe mode? it's tough to access without the right tools...
do you know if any cats have been seen messing with keyboards by just walking over them? it's unpredictable—most keyboards fail because of faulty switches, not all keys dying at once.
Tested all USB ports, switched to a different keyboard, it works fine. Used it on another PC too, same problem. No external damage possible due to how I kept it since last use. It's a membrane keyboard. I need it urgently, have a backup, just wanted to check if fixing is feasible or if replacing is better. Still confused because keyboards often break unexpectedly.
