Sudden weird glitches and stuttering in every game
I'm writing this because I don't know what's wrong. For a few days, sometimes in games like GTA Online, CS 2, or Red Dead Online, the screen freezes for a split second. Before that never happened to me. Sometimes my computer is super smooth with all 82 frames per second, but then suddenly it drops down to 80 or even 78 right after a big action in one second. I can see this stuttering on the screen. I don't know why, but it started happening when I turned off DLDSR in my Nvidia card and turned that resolution back on maybe some settings in Windows are broken now? (I remember that night before things started like that I had to turn off DLDSR, reset my router because Norton said "my DNS is hijacked" ) I've tried almost everything: running SFC, using DDU, changing system settings like game mode etc. , checking if the internet connection was okay by resetting my router to default settings , turning off auto tuning in Nvidia and other stuff. My computer specs are: Motherboard : Asus ROG Strix B760G Gaming DDR4 CPU : Intel i5-13600KF GPU : RTX 4070 Ti Super PSU : MSI MAG A750GL PCIE5 RAM : Corsair 32 GB 3200MHz Vengeance
Turn off Norton to see if everything works better with just Windows Defender or built-in security. What are your hard drives made of? What brands do they come from? How much space is inside each one? Are any of them nearly full?
Yes, that can happen even when you aren't using a computer online. If something is wrong with your Windows installation, the best way to check and make things better is to do a full clean install of the operating system. This will help make sure everything works right again without any viruses or other problems messing things up.
Nope, Norton didn't change anything for these drives. Here are the current offers:
* C Drive: Kingston KC3000, 1 TB, 474 GB left over from 952 GB total.
* D Drive: Kingston KC3000, 1 TB, 220 GB left over from 953 GB total.
* E Drive: ADATA SU650, 1 TB, 150 GB left over from 953 GB total.
* F Drive: GOODRAM CX400, 1 TB, 196 GB left over from 953 GB total.
Honestly, when I tried playing single-player games like GTA or RDR2, they didn't crash on me. But switching to Online mode makes everything go wrong right away. In the game, you start seeing stuttering every few seconds, and sometimes one big freeze lasts for five minutes without stopping.
Use Task Manager (start with the Performance tab) and Resource Monitor (start with Overview) to see how the system works. Run as admin. Look at the graphical charts because some differences might show up better. Use both tools, but only one at a time. Keep that window open while you play so it doesn't get blocked. Your goal is just to spot changes in resources when things stutter. Find out what changed, by how much, and which thing was using up those resources at the exact time. Then go back and look for other changes you saw before. Take your time, watch really closely. Remember that there might be some special parts of the game causing these hiccups. Try doing the same things again to make sure that's why it happens.
maybe it's because your computer doesn't have a solid internet connection, or maybe you're trying to game on something that isn't designed for that. It could be a problem with the network itself, the way your firewall is set up, or even if someone else is watching what you do while playing online games.
I have been looking at my computer stats, specifically the Task Manager. The CPU, GPU, and RAM all look fine to me. But the Ethernet looks strange because I am seeing some stuttering in the game RDR 2 on online screens. It happens suddenly from a smooth 82 frames down to 78 for just one second.
run a quick test on speedtest.net to see how fast you download things from the internet, along with your connection's delay.
Is your Windows firewall on "Private" mode? Have you made sure the latest LAN drivers are all installed? Check out this link to see what RealTek has to offer for downloads: https://www.realtek.com/Download/List?cate_id=584
