I recently got a brand-new computer set up, but everything has been working fine for a long time right until today when copying and pasting just won't go through. I've already tried running the system file checker (SFC) and other fixes. Can you give me some tips on what to do next?

What was the very last thing you did right before this started happening? Did you copy something and then paste that into a new place?

Yeah, for example you can't just copy and paste from a PDF over and over again. There must be some other stuff too.

I came back here to tell everyone that I fixed the problem. I looked at updates first, then clicked on advanced and found an optional one. After clicking it, the driver let me copy and paste files easily. It was a hidden update, so thank you for your help. If anyone else runs into trouble copying or pasting with Windows 11 Pro, read this post too. Thanks again for all the info I shared earlier; maybe that helps in the future if someone asks you.

Oops, something went wrong with my copy-paste. I need some help with that. Just to be clear, I took the pledge from Google and put it into a piece of paper.

Yeah, you copied that stuff from somewhere Google gave you a link to. It wasn't even from Google. So, what's the actual link pointing here?

You might be using right-click menus or pressing Ctrl + C and V to copy and paste something. If that doesn't work, try a different way instead and check if it goes through fine.
