System Info :
Laptop : Lenovo LOQ
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 7840HS w/ Radeon 780M Graphics, 3801 Mhz, 8 Core(s), 16 Logical Processor(s)
GPU : RTX 4060
Memory : 16 GB (8 x2)
Context :
System freezes unexpectedly after launching a file download from Steam. Occasionally the cursor becomes unresponsive as well. Task manager shows memory and CPU usage around 50% and 10%, respectively, with no dedicated GPU activity. Reliability monitor records similar events during the same timeframe.
Upon reviewing the logs from reliability monitor, a dump was attached. After restarting, the AMD driver displayed a warning: “Setting reset due to unexpected system failure.” This suggests an issue with the integrated graphics or the AMD Adrenaline software. These occurrences have happened twice while downloading from Steam. Assistance is needed to identify the cause if any component is malfunctioning.

Verify if your BIOS on the laptop requires an update. Employ DDU to eliminate every GPU driver (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) during Safe Mode, then restore manually using the newest driver from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command, such as right-clicking the installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

The most recent BIOS version is available. Consider reinstalling the drivers to assess any effect. However, given the rare occurrence of this problem, it might be challenging to determine if the drivers were responsible. I was hoping someone could examine the dump files and assist in identifying the faulty driver or component.
