Sudden decrease in FPS from 60 average to 1 in AC Odyssey.
New configuration. Uncertain about the reason for this sudden drop in FPS to half. The game runs smoothly at over 60 FPS, but these abrupt FPS drops are making gaming challenging.
I suggest you capture a brief video with MSI Afterburner running. Set CPU, GPU temps, and Usage % to show onscreen while recording. Also set min and ave FPS to show. Also set VRAM and RAM to show. Post the vid here so we can take a look at it to try and determine what's wrong. Make sure to make the stat fonts in Afterburner big enough to easily read while watching the vid, as we need to know at what points the spikes are worst.
Did you use the built-in game benchmark to determine graphics settings? It's pretty straight forward and easy to use, and is even color coded. Any settings that don't show a green text bench result cannot be trusted to yield stable results. Also, definitely let us know ALL graphics settings you're using. I...
I recommend recording a short clip while MSI Afterburner is active. Display CPU, GPU temperatures and usage percentage on screen during capture. Show min and average FPS as well. Indicate VRAM and RAM usage. Share the video so we can review it and identify any issues. Ensure the text fonts in Afterburner are large enough for easy reading while watching, since we need to pinpoint where the performance drops.
Did you rely on the built-in game benchmark to set your graphics configurations? It’s simple and color-coded, making it easy to interpret. Any settings without a green benchmark result likely won’t give reliable data. Also, please specify all the graphics settings you’re applying. I suggest enabling Vsync, FPS Limit, and Adaptive Quality Off, along with Borderless Window mode.
Theoretically, this setup should allow the game to run smoothly, provided your configurations don’t exceed its limits.
