I'm experiencing stuttering and occasional lag in games like Roblox, GMod or BO3.
I don't believe I should be getting lag on Roblox, not even when playing half the games I enjoy.
If anyone can assist with this problem, that would be really helpful.
Processor: i5 8400
RAM: -1070 Ti
Memory: -16gb DDR4 2666MHZ

Are you connecting your video cable to the motherboard instead of the graphics card? How is CPU and GPU utilization appearing, along with temperatures?

Yes, that is your display cable. May I share an image of the back of your computer?

I reinstalled all my drivers, yet no performance boost. Is it just my computer can't run this game or my hardware is messed up? I try to play that game but get below 40-50 fps. If you don't mind could you try playing that game to see how you do in performance?

It's much simpler to try something else and check for stutters or lag.
Your device is more than ready to handle any game. This might be due to several reasons. Have you attempted playing at the minimum settings? You may not want to play there, but it could help determine if the issue continues at lower levels.

Yes, the games at the lowest settings don't have the problem except for GMOD. I still feel a stutter there.

You realize your problem likely lies in the graphic configurations. It’s probable they’re all set too high. You need to identify which specific graphic parameters are responsible for the stutter or lag and adjust them accordingly, leaving other settings unchanged.

Regarding GMOD, if you can play it without internet (or in a solo match), observe whether the issue appears offline or only when online. If it’s exclusive to online play, consider that the lag might stem from the game’s overall optimization combined with the number of players and their actions during the session. Always test this at the lowest possible settings.

The video by @Majestic can be very useful. It covers many points I mentioned. Pay close attention to the entire content and the explanations provided. While it may not address the online part directly, it offers valuable insights. Frame rate is crucial for smooth gameplay, and each graphic setting significantly impacts frame timing. I’m confident in this advice. Just avoid ultra settings and go with a custom configuration.

What upgrades would be necessary for your processor to support full graphics? Also, I experienced stuttering and crashes when running BO3 despite its smooth performance; can you help clarify what's happening?
