Stuttering in Games
Stuttering in Games
Hi, I built my PC two years ago and have experienced stuttering in games since then. This issue is most visible in titles like ARK Survival Evolved, Minecraft, and Satisfactory. Each time it stutters, my frame rate in MSI Afterburner spikes. I’ve changed the CPU and GPU, but nothing has improved. Recent benchmarks show everything is within normal ranges. I’ve updated all components yet still haven’t found a solution. Please help.
Specs: Ryzen 7 3700X, Ryzen 3 4100 RX 2080s MSI Gaming Trio X, RX 3090 MSI Gaming Trio X Asus B550-A Gaming Trident Z Royal 2x8GB, Corsair Vengeance Pro 4x8GB Seasonic 750W Power Supply 80Plus Platinum, Lian Li PC-O-11 Case Deepcool Castle V2 260mm AIO 9x Coolermaster RGB Fans, 1TB Samsung EVO SSD, 2TB WD Black M.2 SSD, and 2TB HDD.
Check if your setup matches the power requirements for those components. Confirm whether the games are stored on HDD or SSD and if rebar is turned on. In MSI Afterburner, besides the frame rate increase, have you noticed spikes in RAM, CPU, or storage usage?
Checking performance on 20 series models isn't supported yet. If synthetic tests pass, focus on background tasks and drivers. Use DDU to monitor system activity during sessions. Track precise timestamps and examine the Windows Event Viewer for details.
In Minecraft the game slows down each time a chunk is loaded, even when you're stationary within already loaded areas. I've tried reinstalling Windows from scratch, wiping all data from your SSDs and HDDs, but the issue persists.
