Stuttering combined with an uneven experience
Hello,
When I play my game for a short time and switch to alt tab or use my second monitor, the game becomes unsmooth and it's really bothersome. There are also stutters that cause my FPS to drop occasionally. Could this be due to an issue with my PC?
I only play Fortnite
Setup:
1080 ti 11gb
i7 7700k 4.5ghz
16gb ram
550w PSU
240GB SSD / 480GB HDD
Perips:
Apex Pro TKL
Glorious Model O
Acer XB241H 180HZ (OC) (MAIN GSYNC)

So here’s the situation I’m facing:
1. Whenever I switch tabs or use a second monitor while playing, my game becomes very choppy—like it’s running at 90Hz instead of the intended 180Hz. It keeps glitching until I restart.
2. Also, when FPS drops below my refresh rate, the game feels even more unstable. I notice delays in input, choppy performance, and frequent micro-stutters, especially in games like Fortnite where dropping to 60-120 FPS is common.
I’m not sure what’s causing it or how to describe it more clearly.
