Hello,
a friend of mine recently purchased a brand new PC and encountered problems with Black Desert Online. The issues are specific to BDO only. All other games function properly on Ultra settings, even Cyberpunk with Maximum Details and Path Tracing enabled.

Initial specifications:
- Windows 10
- Ryzen 9 7950X3D
- Asus ROG Strix X670E
- RTX 4090
- 32 GB DDR5 6000 RAM
- M.2 NVMe SSD
- 165Hz display

He plays the game on Remastered with unlimited FPS. Whenever he starts BDO, it drops to around 3 frames for about 5 minutes, causing heavy stuttering and distorted audio. After a short pause (roughly 10 to 20 seconds), everything resumes normally. Occasionally, the sound remains distorted, but sometimes it returns to normal.

We identified that this problem occurs only in BDO; other titles like Cyberpunk, Diablo, League of Legends work without issues.

We tried several fixes:
- Updating chipset drivers
- Installing the latest BIOS
- Performing a BDO file check
- Updating GPU driver
- Setting CPU affinity
- Limiting FPS to 165
- Disabling Windows Game Bar

No solution was found, so I hope someone else has encountered the same issue or can assist us.
Thank you in advance for any help we receive. 😉

It is a region locked game. Where do you live? it may be sending you to a far away server causing the problems.

Black Desert isn't restricted by region. We've been playing it for seven years on the EU server and we're based in Germany, which is unrelated to any region restrictions. On his previous machine (Intel i7), he didn't face these issues until with his new 7950X3D.

Yeah, I think Germany is part of the EU, right? I just realized I didn't know your location and it might have taken me to a different server. It's not your issue.
