Stuttering
Stuttering
Hello everyone, I've noticed consistent performance drops in Farming Simulator 2022. The game operates smoothly until every minute passes, then it stutters precisely at the 60-second mark. This issue appears unique to this title. Other games like Cyberpunk or CS2 function without problems. Benchmarks such as 3DMark Time Spy or Heaven show no interruptions. My attempts so far include switching the game to an SSD, adjusting graphics settings, enabling/disabling Gsync/Vsync, starting PC in clean boot mode, and updating drivers. System specs are current: GPU 3060 Ti, CPU R5 5600X, motherboard ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS, 16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR4 3600MHz, SSD Samsung 980 250GB, HDD Seagate Barracuda 2TB, PSU 650W, Focus OS, Windows 11, monitor 1080p 144Hz. Here are the screenshots from MSI Afterburner.
Use GPU-Z to check the PCIe version of your system. It should display a complete 16x4.0 configuration. If not, that could relate to the problem. ReBAR might also be involved; you can confirm everything in GPU-Z. The issue may also stem from using an HDD—consider upgrading to an SSD or disconnecting the secondary drive.
Photo of GPU-Z shows I attempted to turn off ReBar in BIOS, but it didn’t fix the issue. I also tried running the game on an NVMe M.2 SSD, yet it kept stuttering.
The drive issue seems to stem from connecting it directly. It appears to be limited to negotiating at x16 1.1, possibly indicating a hardware limitation. Check if your case includes a riser for better connectivity.
Hi, I've moved the game to an SSD and unplugged the HDD, but the stuttering still occurs. Yesterday I sent an incorrect GPU-Z image while the game wasn't running. This should be the right one. Do you have any other suggestions for what might be causing the issue? A clean Windows installation could help, since I've already tried a clean boot and think third-party software shouldn't be the problem. Could a process that runs every 60 seconds be responsible? Otherwise, I'm not sure what's happening or why it only affects this game.
Restart the game and enjoy playing without any modifications.
I’d verify CPU and GPU power usage to detect any drops. If levels are stable, it might point to a UEFI or hardware problem after reinstallation (besides an existing HDD). Adjusting settings like Vsync and frame rate limits can help, as they sometimes cause issues in certain games. A clean install should have set your Power Plan to 'balanced,' but testing Performance mode might reveal performance fluctuations that hint at C-state/P-state control problems.
I face the same issue, but it's unique to Battlefield 2042. My PC setup is almost identical, yet different. It began when I turned on AMD SAM, but even after disabling it in BIOS, the stutters persist, usually happening between 1:30 and 2 minutes. System details: Windows 11 Pro 23H2, BIOS: Biostar B550MH, CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 5700X, GPU: AsRock Challenger RX 7600, RAM: 8GB DDR4 (2x16, 3200Mhz), SSD: Adata Legend 710 (1TB, M.2 NVMe), HDD: Seagate 1TB ST1000VM002, PSU: Gigabyte P650B 650W. I captured a video marking the stutter moment, but couldn't attach an overlay to display hardware usage. What I've tried includes turning off ReBar, reinstalling drivers, switching storage types, reducing graphics settings, and even updating BIOS back to defaults or doing a clean Windows install.
