Stutter System Suttering Troubleshooting assistance needed
System: CPU model Intel 13900k, GPU ROG Strix 4090 OC 24GB, Motherboard MSI MEG z790 ACE eATX, RAM 64GB Gskill Trident 5 Z 5600 MHz, OS Windows 11 Pro Build 22631.3737, Graphics Driver V: 555.99. My setup experiences performance issues during gaming—smooth operation followed by brief freezes lasting a couple of seconds, then normal frame rates returning. I also notice my monitors and TV stay off during use, and I sometimes see the Windows screen animate by zooming out and then reappearing. This causes random pauses lasting 5-10 seconds. Could you assist in troubleshooting and identifying the cause of these stutters? Thank you.
Have you checked each screen to identify the source of the issue? My assumption is the TV as well. What are your current temperatures?
Check if any HDDs are connected. Remove all except the primary monitor to test for issues. The 'zoom in' issue probably means the display is switching on and off.
I'll attempt to remove the TV and check if the problems persist.
Duration details for GPU, CPU, or both usage, along with idle or in-game activity. Methods to track them precisely and provide feedback during gameplay.
I think it's likely a 2x32GB setup, agreeing with Agall. Adding a DDU might be beneficial. Have you looked at temperatures during gameplay?
I have 3 HDDs and 1 SSD All 2TB and one external enclosure that's normally not on.
Yes 2X32GB. Uninstall and reinstall the display drivers. is this from Nvidia or another program that would be recommended?
Yes, but it's a full wipe of the drivers and a clean install. Everything explained here https://www.guru3d.com/download/display-...-download/ Good, just checking
I would try removing all but your primary SSD. Each disk continues to talk to the CPU frequently, often causing small delays because interrupt signals are sent during those exchanges. In more noticeable cases, it might point to a bad drive forcing the CPU to wait too long. This is something to evaluate.
