A particular model isn't the best choice, I think. Feature recommendations would be more suitable.

Prioritize SSD storage of 500GB or more with built-in capacity (a USB external HDD is suggested for backups).

Include 16GB of RAM.

A docking station is needed to support a large monitor and a full-sized keyboard/monitor. Avoid investing in separate graphics cards.

The display size affects weight, so a larger screen means more weight. A lighter option might suit a daughter better.

A Microsoft Surface could work but comes with a high price tag.
