I completed my most costly project yet, but the computer freezes during startup. I attempted all fixes—flashing, updating, resetting CMOS, relocating RAM, using one RAM module, adjusting the AIO slightly—but it still won’t boot. A service store advised me that only formatting with a USB drive can get it running. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
You're asking about the boot process. It could mean the system starts but doesn't load properly, you can't reach the BIOS settings, or the SSD is connected from another device with existing software. The shop suggested using a USB drive to get an operating system if needed.
it displays posts, i can view bios and boot menu but it stops there. Every component is brand new, and in the shop we started it with a Windows 10 USB drive. I’m beginning to worry about the MB fault—MSI X570s supports Tomahawk Max, and the SSD is a Samsung 980 PCIe 3 1TB.
It seems you haven’t installed Windows on the Samsung 980 yet, but you’re hoping it will boot into Windows somehow. Since you can access the Windows USB in the store, running the installation should work. After installing, the system will likely start in BIOS as usual. That makes sense. I’d also test Windows 11 and maybe Linux to check how booting changes. My setup worked on Linux but not on Windows 10, which turned out to be a faulty SSD.
I asked a friend to bring a free SSD over tomorrow to test if the issue is with the SSD itself. I haven’t tried booting with another OS yet, but I’ll check that tomorrow. After nearly 9 hours of troubleshooting—plugging in, unplugging, resetting, updating, downloading the old BIOS—I’m worried it might be the motherboard. It’s my first time getting an MSI and it’s not cheap, so I’m a bit nervous.
Did you solve that problem? I have a comparable issue on my current machine and I don’t want to risk losing my files.
