She purchased a B760 DDR5 board to pair with her 13400F, but we’re still not sure how RAM speeds and latency influence Raptor Lake performance. I’m familiar with AMD systems and her setup uses a 4790K running 16GB DDR3. We’re evaluating two RAM options: Team T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x16GB) at 288-pin PC RAM DDR5 5600 (PC5 44800), and Team T-Force Delta RGB 32GB (2x16GB) at 288-pin DDR5 6000 (PC5 48000). The latter model offers lower CAS latency but runs slower at 400 MHz. We’re wondering if either speed or latency makes a noticeable difference, or if the change is negligible given the $5 price gap.

They should differ very little overall. The faster speed is expected to compensate for the differences in CAS.

The main variation in CL is about 12.67ns latency between the 6000CL38 and 5600CL32 kits. That’s roughly a 9% slowdown for the former, offset somewhat by its 7% higher clock speed. Expect the two to compete closely—speed will depend on the game type. In latency-critical scenarios, the 5600 kit edges ahead, while in bandwidth-heavy situations, the 6000 kit may perform better. Unless paired with a powerful GPU like a 7900XTX or RTX 4080, you likely won’t notice a clear difference in gameplay.

I discovered this piece of information somewhere else, showing that any real speed variations are just theory and she won’t feel the gap when using a 3070 Ti.
