The latest issue is that adding it as a network drive works okay for me, but I tried two different methods and it feels like the flash drive is being used instead. I also can’t upload files or folders, and pasting anything doesn’t work properly.

I used the appropriate command to link the directory to an SMB share, though you might have selected the incorrect path. This is happening quickly—tomorrow I’ll configure the Ubuntu 18.10 container on the VM server as a local backup, and I’ll do the same so I can help more effectively.
