Struggling with poor results in Cyberpunk on high-end systems? Let's troubleshoot together.
When I began playing cyberpunk as Nomad, I was achieving over 100 fps outside the city and around 80-90 during the first mission inside. After moving out into the city, my performance dropped sharply! Luckily, I maintain above 40 fps in urban areas. The issue, though, is that these are my system details: i9-10850K Zotac RTX 3090, Trinity with 32GB RAM, running on an M.2 SSD. I updated the NVIDIA drivers and reinstalled Cyberpunk twice, testing the latest 1.04 patch. I experimented with DLSS and ray tracing in various settings, but nothing reaches the benchmark average of 72fps mentioned in articles. I suspect my game might be stuck in an odd state, repeatedly calculating quest statuses in the background and consuming CPU power. After restarting from the beginning, the slowdown returned to the same area right after leaving the apartment. Here’s a 3DMark score I logged yesterday. I’ve tried other titles too—they all run smoothly, like Hunt Showdown (117-132fps) and Apex Legends (often over 140fps). So it seems my hardware is solid. On a note, DLSS in this game makes everything look excessively blurry.
Review GPU and CPU utilization via MSI Afterburner overlay. Determine the current resolution being used. The game often encounters issues with Ryzen CPUs, missing thread usage while only physical cores are active. No reports yet about Intel CPUs or low GPU activity. Many users report similar problems with Intel as well. Analyze FPS improvements when switching from Ultra to Low presets in a busy city scene, ensuring GPU load stays minimal on the Low setting. Disable RT and DLSS entirely for this check.
A colleague from Intel resolved the issue, though I think the default setting in BIOS for AVX offset might be zero, which shouldn’t be the cause. I’m on AMD and I’m uncertain about that.
