Hello everyone, in december 2017 I assembled my third gaming setup that I aimed to use without worrying about trade-offs in games. It handles everything I throw at it... Except for CSGO, which performs poorly. One year has gone by and I still can't enjoy a light game like CS because my system struggles to maintain a high, stable frame rate. It becomes unstable and it's nearly impossible to play since I upgraded to a 144Hz monitor. The only factor that made it work was VSync, but even then it drops below 100 FPS to the low 30s, which is unacceptable. I own a 7800x with 16GB of 2400Mhz RAM and a Strix GTX1080. Other games with this issue include Half Life 2 and CS Source, both running on the Source engine, which might be the cause. The worst part is that nothing improves or changes once I lower in-game settings or apply commands beforehand, indicating a software issue. Any advice?

I noticed someone mentioning their CS:GO game dropping frames, though they were playing with a 1060 graphics card.

The issue is affecting both my game's performance and frame rate, dropping below 150 FPS even at 1080p, causing constant fluctuations between 40 and 150 FPS—it's really unsettling.

It had been handling that task earlier, which makes me believe Panorama isn't the issue. Plus, it still starts up with Panorama enabled.

Recently using CS shows they resolved many old issues, and Panorama is the cause of poor performance for 99 percent of users.

I attempted but nothing occurred; the system still started with Panorama. I overlooked that both performance issues and unresponsiveness to launch options persist, as the computer disregards all commands.

Considered this: does your card support a low-power setting? CS:GO probably doesn’t heavily use the GPU, same with Half-Life 2 and CS:Source. Switch to High Performance in the Control Panel and check if it makes a difference.

I don't know what you exactly mean, I have the GPU fully clocked in GPU Tweak there's nothing regarding low power. Also, in GMod and Portal 2 it doesn't give any problems and they still run on Source

I can picture you having a clean gaming experience in Gmod, particularly if you're heavily using mods. Pascal cards typically offer ways to manage their power usage and run more quietly when not under pressure.
