I recently switched my PC from Intel to AMD with a DDR5 motherboard and RAM. Playing games works fine until about 10 to 5 minutes of gameplay where it crashes and restarts to the desktop without any warning. I’ve collected crash logs from my system:

- 12/28/2023 8:31 AM – Application Error: wallpaper32.exe, version 2.3.0.26, timestamp 0x651c8df7...
- Faulting module: d3d11.dll, version 10.0.19041.3636, timestamp 0xfe2e2f13...
- Exception code: 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0011d1e6, process ID 0x4340, start time 0x01da3963e0695939
- Paths involved: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\wallpaper_engine\wallpaper32.exe and C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\d3d11.dll
- Report ID: ebb51227-c90f-410e-82a8-521df5504917

Other crashes include:

- 0x648ff746 – eldenring.exe, version 2.0.0.0, timestamp 0x648ff746, code 0xc0000005, offset 0x0000000001e753d5
- Faulting module: eldenring.exe, path C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game\eldenring.exe
- Report ID: eb8cb108-f75b-4a98-a860-ec2844ab50a6
- Version 2.0.0.0, timestamp 0x648ff746, code 0xc0000005, offset 0x000000000040a830
- Process ID 0x830, start time 0x01da39ece7aabeb9

My specs are still under review—please let me know if you need more details. I’m grateful for your help and will always appreciate it. P.S., all drivers are current and Windows was just installed. My GPU is a 2060 6GB NVIDIA card.

Have you reset your storage and restored Windows? That’s the initial step.

I organized and deleted all my external drives after transferring my personal files to OneDrive. The computer works well except for gaming, where it still crashes as expected.

Begin with the UEFI setup. Install all required drivers, covering chipset support. Proceed carefully—trust is not guaranteed.

Turn off EXPO for the RAM. Which RAM kits are installed? Provide the precise model number.

You can disable Expo by closing the associated application or uninstalling it from your device.

You might need to look at the UEFI or BIOS configuration.
