Struggling to install HyperX FURY DDR4 on Ryzen
Hello everyone,
I recently upgraded my systems. Because of the cost of DDR4, I bought a kit on sale that contains one 8GB Kingston HyperX FURY stick. Noticing the performance boost RYZEN gets from faster memory, I looked up a forum where someone had successfully overclocked their exact 2400MHz kit to 3000MHz (RYZEN's optimal setting) using minor timing tweaks on an Intel platform. After testing 3000 and 2666 MHz overclocks without success, I wondered if there was another way to push my RAM further. Many people say a 2400MHz kit can't be overclocked beyond that, but seeing several sites where my specific model reached at least 2666 made me doubt this.
Below are the system specifications, as they’ll be useful for any advice:
AMD RYZEN 5 1500X, stock clocks on the Wraith Spire
GIGABYTE AB350-GAMING3 (BIOS rev. F8)
HyperX FURY 8GB @ 2400MHz, single channel
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC
EVGA 750BQ 750W Semi-Modular 80+ Bronze PSU
each chip cpu/gpu/ram is unique, simply because someone managed to create it doesn't imply you can either.
