I experience a persistent loud coil whine from the VRAM section of my motherboard. The noise remains consistent no matter the system load. It doesn’t originate from the GPU, though it does appear with high CPU usage. The pitch changes slightly each time I power on the PC, but stays the same during the session. Sometimes it seems to vary based on how long I wait before turning it on after plugging in the power source. I’ve tried several fixes: turned off C-states, disabled AMD cooling, adjusted CPU settings, set CPU to fixed frequency, and even undervolting the processor. Despite these changes, the issue persists unchanged. I’m unsure what’s causing it and whether a replacement motherboard would help. Components in use: Motherboard model Gigabyte B550i Aorus Pro AX, CPU AMD Ryzen 5600x, GPU AMD RX 6700X (reference), RAM T-Force 3600 (32GB), PSU Corsair SF 750, link-up riser cable.

Typically you can't fix coilwhine. However, if the issue comes from the graphics card, you might manage FPS settings to avoid high or low values. Also, a custom waterblock on the card can slightly worsen the problem.

One improvement was using a UPS with a pure sine wave generator to stabilize the power entering my home—it helped reduce the noise, though it didn’t eliminate it entirely.

You're checking if any Corsair modular PSUs, especially the CXM and SF series, produce coil whine. It's a common issue with some Gold units. I'm not sure what CPU cooler you're using, but let me know!

As mentioned, the GPU coil whine is acceptable. In games, I increase the volume so it doesn't stand out when using headphones.

I use the Alpenfön Blackridge v2 but power it with just a 120mm Noctua nf a12x15 fan. That's the only fan running at idle. GPU fans stay off during idle, and the PSU too. Sometimes after strong CPU or GPU loads (like F1), the whine disappears completely, but it usually returns after a restart.

Really frustrating. Using an open air enclosure makes things worse. The hum is really loud. It might be less noticeable in a typical sealed case.
