I recently purchased an Asus Tuf F16 equipped with an i7 14650hx and RX 5060. I conducted an extended stress test on the CPU, which began showing power and current/EDP throttling right at the start. The throttling persisted for a while before stopping, but power throttling continued afterward. I've included timestamps of when these events occurred. The core frequency reached its maximum of 3.8–3.9GHz, and in turbo mode it spiked to 4.2GHz, with the CPU drawing between 100-115W during the test. Performance mode was active, though I opted for performance mode instead of turbo due to excessive fan noise. My charging cable is connected, but my brick only supports up to 280W—why is it still throttling?

Power is shared between cpu and gpu. Asus puts power limits in place according to what the cooler can handle, the vrms on the board and the performance target they wish to allow. You arent running thr gpu here so there's plenty cooling at the moment but in a gaming workload yeah that can change veryyyyy quickly. Also its their budget lineup they obviouslt wont allow that to go as fast as their higher tierrd.stuff

The CPU is built to reduce performance under strain and high demands to prevent overheating
