I'm working with the one linked to PCI. That means it comes from PCI > In/Out.

It won't function that way. A video from Paul's Hardware clarifies this. The capture card must handle Loop Through, which the Elgato devices don't support.

aslong as it has the pass-through feature, it works. I have an Elgato with pass-through enabled and it functions perfectly.

the purpose of a capture card is to allow another PC to manage the encoding of the video stream. Inserting a capture card inside a PC that creates content is unnecessary since it can encode what it's showing on its own. For additional ports, utilize those already available on a graphics card or purchase more graphics cards.

I had the same problem and I must admit I don't recall the exact fix. I remember the suggested workaround didn't help, but there were many YouTube videos offering solutions. I searched through all the options on YouTube until it finally worked for me. Sorry for the unclear response.
