Streaming Question....again
Streaming Question....again
My current configuration is
Main rig:
CPU: I7 7700k
Memory: 32 Gig Hyper X
GPU: 1080 Ti Strix
Monitor: 1400p 165hz
Streaming PC:
CPU: I5 4670k
Memory: 8 Gig Hyper X
GPU: GTX 1050 or GTX 980 (two options)
I’m looking for advice on what to choose in my setup.
I use an OBS NDI plugin because I can’t afford a capture card and my streaming PC only has a Mini ITX Mobo with case, lacking a PCI slot for a capture card.
I need a practical solution now, given my limited funds.
Should I go with the GTX 980 for NVEC (new) performance or the 1050, which supports 10 series encoding for Nvidia NVEC?
A high refresh rate monitor makes smooth streaming difficult.
Using the main rig for streaming isn’t ideal since it strains the system during games.
I just need some guidance on inputs. Thanks!
Looking at your specs, the highlighted parts are really funny.
Have you tried this? Because the system works well and NVenc shouldn't put too much strain on the GPU. Or maybe QuickSync could help if 7700K is reaching its limit for your games. I'm not sure about that.
What do you aim to achieve? Which games, what streaming quality or bitrate are you planning?
I have been tested for a long time on end, aiming for a smooth and visually appealing stream using my current setup. The main rig drops FPS significantly in games such as PUBG and Battlefield, especially at 1440p with high refresh rates—around 20-30 FPS loss when streaming. I’ve tried both cards on my streaming PC and noticed the 980 model gives a bit more FPS for viewers, which matches what I need.
I’m planning to save for a 4K capture card since this setup is recommended for quality streaming on my type of monitor. The only issue is that my streaming PC lacks a PCI slot, so I’ll have to look for a USB 3 equivalent card. I’m also uncertain whether my Viewsonic XG2703-GS QHD 165Hz monitor can handle high refresh rates with HDMI and capture cards.
Goal:
Stream at 1080p with 60 fps, 5500 bitrate, while keeping the main rig less strained.
I want to be honest,
I tried quicksync with the NDI plugin but never considered enabling the 7700ks GPU for this and it never occurred to me.
Just ran the stream using it and bam, it can handle at least 1600x900 at 60 fps.
Thank you good sir, this will work until I can afford that expensive 4k capture card.
Bah i was wrong there is heaps of tearing even at 720p 60fps.... i just cannot win this fight. High refresh and streaming is a pain in the ass.
I figured it out. My 1080p camera was consuming a lot of resources, so I lowered it to 720p which improved performance significantly. Now it runs smoothly at 480P with a 10-fold increase in frame rate using NVENC (new) through the 1080TI.
